6th Housing Fair Is On
Gaganda ang Buhay sa Sariling Bahay
PRESIDENTIAL Proclamation 662 of 1995 declares the month of October every year as National Shelter Month – also the month when the National Housing Authority celebrates its anniversary.
While it is the policy of the State to afford employees the requirements of decent human settlement and to provide them with ample opportunities to improve their quality of life, Memorandum Circular No.160 dated August 4, 2008 underscored the National Shelter Program of the government to address the housing requirements of both the informal and formal sectors and society, including employees in the public and private sector and Oversees Filipino Workers or OFWs.
In celebration of the National Shelter Month, all branches of the government are enjoined to actively participate in the Housing Fair as well as enlist the private sector groups and non-government organizations to attain goals and objectives of the Housing Fair.
On September 30, October 1 and 2 of this year, the 2011 Housing Fair will be held at the SM Mega Trade Hall, in Mandaluyong City. This will be opened by no less than the Vice President and HUDCC Chairperson Jejomar C. Binay.
The Housing Fair theme dubbed as "Gaganda ang Buhay sa Sariling Bahay" will showcase housing displays of various housing multi-stockholders, marketing and disposition of eligible acquired properties of the key shelter agencies like Pag-ibig Fund, National Home Mortgage Finance Corporation (NHMFC), Home Guaranty Cooperation (HGC), Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP), Social Security System (SSS), Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) and the National Housing Authority (NHA). The NHA will provide resettlement assistance to clients belonging to socialized housing sector. The Social Housing Finance Corporation (SHFC), Housing and Land Use Regulatory Board will also participate in the Fair.
The 2011 Housing Fair Technical Committee lead coordinator is PAG-IBIG FUND, led by Ms. Yolanda Akol, Vice-President for Loans Recovery Group. This three day Housing Fair will also highlight among others, awarding of houses, lots and notices of awards to beneficiaries of the different housing agencies.
It will also feature resource speakers who will present and discuss their own housing programs and how to avail of same. One-stop-shops, other allied services and product demonstrations related to housing from different sectors will also be displayed in the Housing Fair. See you all at the Fair!
