Mabalacat Residents Get Titles
Vice President and Housing Czar Jejomar C. Binay awarded 302 lot titles recently to qualified families affected by the Mt. Pinatubo eruption in Mabalacat, Pampanga.
These affected families came from the barangays of Bacolor, Mabalacat and Angeles City, which were devastated by the Mt. Pinatubo eruption in 1991. They are now safely and securely resettled in Camachile Resettlement Project, Mabalacat, Pampanga.
The Camachile project which occupies a total land area of 26.80 hectares was acquired in January 1992 and was transferred into a bustling community by the Mt. Pinatubo Commission through the National Housing Authority (NHA) as the implementing agency. It now houses some 1,421 households where basic socio-economic amenities, physical, medical and educational facilities are available. Livelihood and employment opportunities are also given priority attention by the government and non-government organizations to its community beneficiaries.
The distribution of lot titles was witnessed by Congressman Carmelo F. Lazatin, 1st District of Pampanga, Mayor Marino P. Morales of Mabalacat, Mayor Antonio "TJ" Rodriguez of Capas, Tarlac, Governor Lilia Pineda of Pampanga, Atty. Chito M. Cruz, General Manager of NHA, Atty. Bayani A. Maniquis of Register of Deeds (RD) of Angeles City, Pampanga, LGUs, other government officials and community residents.
