Promising writers @ Writeshop Workshop
The National Housing Authority Gender and Development (GAD) team initiated a training workshop on writing composed of Area Management Officers from National Capital Region (NCR), Visayas, Southern Luzon and Bicol Region, Northern and Central Luzon, the Mindanao Region and select staff from different departments. They joined and sweat it out in finally coming up with a compendium of written materials on NHA best practices/experiences.
This three-day workshop on documenting best practices was first in the history of NHA after 36 years since it organized a pool of documenters and mentors to advocate and sustain documentation of best practices in NHA. It was held in Tanay, Rizal, with the cooperation of "Galing Pook Foundation, an NGO, which assists and supports agencies like us in their pursuit of information advocacy, publication and dissemination of writeshop output- an NHA Book on Best practices. One of the basic goals of this workshop was aimed at honing the skills of select NHA implementers in documenting the agency's best practices. At the same time, it provided the 18-men and women participants with the working knowledge and skills in documenting outstanding initiatives.
The Galing Pook Foundation successfully facilitated the three-day training where they managed, provided inputs and facilitated the workshop.
In addition, the Foundation committed to refine, edit, print and package the documentation/write-ups of the writers/participants and the book will be published before the end of the year.
At the end of the 3-day training, recognition of awards to promising writers, best write ups and other citations were conferred by Ms. Ivanswenda Marquez, the Vice-Chair of NHA-GAD, on behalf of Ms. Lorna Seraspe, NHA-GAD Focal Point.
