The NHA Iloilo Office participated in the Western Visayas Housing Fair 2009 held last October 26-30 at the Robinson’s Mall, Iloilo.
The well-attended housing fair was organized by government shelter agencies under the supervision of the Housing and Urban Development Coordinating Council (HUDCC) and participated in by private developers, people’s organizations and various non-government organizations.
One of the highlights of the fair was the conduct of a house design competition which was facilitated by NHA. The Western Visayas College of Science and Technology (WVCST) won the major awards for duplex and row house design, and took home P50,000 in cash prize.
Technical sessions were held on the following topics: Community Mortgage Program presented by the Social Housing Finance Corporation (SHFC) and NHA; update on the new provisions of BP 220 and registration of homeowners associations presented by the Housing and Land Use Regulatory Board (HLURB); and housing seminar for borrowers and the Institutional Loan Program presented by Pag-IBIG Fund.
