Security of tenure will no longer be a problem for members of a community association in Pasig that acquired a parcel of land through the Local Housing Program implemented by the National Housing Authority (NHA).
Ben Mar Homeowners Association, Inc. acquired 932 square meters of land in Manggahan, Pasig through the trust fund of the socialized housing program earmarked for the congressional district of Pasig City.
Congressman Ramon Romulo endorsed the utilization of P3,033,900 for the allocation of the local housing program to finance the acquisition of the property occupied by the association from the landowner, Ben Mar Enterprises, Inc.
NHA released the total amount of P3,033,900 from the local housing fund of the district. Of the total amount, P2,796,000 was for land acquisition while 237,900 was for survey and titling.
The land will yield 31 house and lot packages for homeowner members on-site. The lots will be paid individually by the beneficiaries to NHA within 30 years at six percent per annum.
