
Emergency measures were undertaken by the National Housing Authority (NHA) after the massive flooding and devastation caused by tropical storm Ondoy last September 26, 2009.
The emergency measures which were approved by the NHA Board under Resolution No. 5210 dated October 22, 2009 include: one-time grant of emergency relief food assistance to Ondoy victims in the total amount of P2,697,400; moratorium/suspension of amortization payments for typhoon-affected account holders for three months, from October to December 2009; and relocation of the families affected by the calamities.
Relatedly, NHA General Manager Federico Laxa approved the grant of P10,000 calamity assistance to affected NHA officials and employees.
The guidelines for the grant of calamity assistance are provided for in NHA Memorandum Circular No. 2251 dated November 5, 2009.
