For 2009, NHA is set to produce 51,365 units of housing starts in 168 new projects and 44,048 units of housing completions in 141 projects. This year’s target starts is 24 percent more than last year’s accomplishment of 41,578 units while completion is 9 percent less than the 2008 accomplishment of 48,280 units.
The bulk of production starts, 49 percent or 25,121 units, comes from NHA regular programs, with slum upgrading having the highest target at P14,176 units or 28 percent of the total. Meanwhile, majority or 64 percent of completions come from projects undertaken by NHA for the National Government.
In terms of geographical distribution, 45 percent or 23,411 units of target starts and 31 percent or 13,655 units of target completions are to be generated in the National Capital Region.
NHA expects to dispose 43,917 units with an estimated value of P13,150 million in 2009. Sales target is 97 percent more than the 2008 accomplishment of 22,341 units. Of the total sales target, 67 percent or 29,428 units came from resettlement projects; 21 percent or 9,281 units from slum upgrading projects; 10 percent or 4,103 units from sites and services; two percent or 913 units from medium rise housing projects; and the balance from core housing projects and commercial/industrial/institutional lots.
Total collection target is pegged at P1,878 million from 120,813 accounts nationwide. The target is equivalent to 44 percent of potential Total Amount Due (TAD) of P4,231 million. It is also 74 percent higher than the collection level of p1,078 million in 2008. |
